A coalition of wildlife conservation organizations has teamed up in California to create a coalition that’s aiming to stop legislation that proposes a ban on standard ammunition for hunting. The bill will negatively affect thousands of California hunters, firearms dealers, and ammunition industries.

The legislation aims to protect scavenging birds like the golden eagle and the California condor, which have been shown to have high rates of lead poisoning because of lead-based bullets.
