As always, we’ll refrain from posting rumors, and will post facts only when we have them from multiple sources and can be reasonably certain that this information is correct.

Update: From the Denver Post. Make of it what you will.

The gunman’s parents divorced in late 2011, according to court records. The divorce was finalized in August 2012.

Thomas Conrad, who had an economics class with the gunman, described him as a very opinionated Socialist.

“He was exuberant I guess,” Conrad said. “A lot of people picked on him, but it didn’t seem to bother him.”

Additional update: The Ministry of Truth from Orwell’s 1984 appears to be alive and well and running the Denver Post. The second sentence in the quote above has been edited to remove “Socialist.”

It now reads:

Thomas Conrad, who had an economics class with Pierson, described him as very opinionated.

It’s always about protecting the narrative, and defending the party, comrades.
