Bad Parties and Politics

George Washington did not like the idea of established political parties.  He feared what might happen in government should this happen.  As he said in his Farewell Address:

"And of fatal tendency…to put, in the place of the delegated will of the Nation, the will of a party; often a small but artful and enterprising minority… They are likely, in the course of time and things, to become potent engines, by which cunning, ambitious, and unprincipled men will be enabled to subvert the Power of the People and to usurp for the themselves the reins of Government; destroying afterwards the very engines which have lifted them to unjust dominion…”

Have you seen a more apt description of the current Democratic party in power in America today?  Or perhaps of a group of Chicago thugs; no wait, sorry, how silly of me, they’re the same thing!

What an extraordinary man George Washington was.  He continued:

“But this leads at length to a more formal and permanent despotism. The disorders and miseries, which result, gradually incline the minds of men to seek security and repose in the absolute power of an Individual…[who] turns this disposition to the purposes of his own elevation, on the ruins of Public Liberty…”

Even in 18th Century language, the wisdom of George Washington with regard to what an established political party could do with the wrong intentions (which is what we have now with the current party holding leadership positions) is crystal clear.  The General went on to say:

“The spirit of encroachment tends to consolidate the powers of all the departments in one, and thus to create, whatever the form of government, a real despotism…Let there be no change by usurpation… It is the customary weapon by which free governments are destroyed."

Well, that about says it all, don’t you think?

George Washington, the ultimate realist, understood that man was weak, and we should all be grateful that he was as gifted as he was in describing what might befall the nation he created.  Our first and greatest leader has thus accurately described what has happened in his and his fellow Founders’ country just over 220 years later, and it is nothing that any of them wanted.  It was instead what George Washington and the others expected might happen should those with a non-American agenda be elected.

What do you think he would have expected us to do?  We are, after all, the literal or spiritual inheritors of these extraordinary men.  We, the people of their nation, seem to be the ones who understand the United States of America that the Founders created.  The last ones who seem to understand American exceptionalism are the clueless ‘leaders’ we mistakenly elected, and this goes for our current Administration, as well as for our members of Congress.

So who leads now?  Who takes the General’s warnings and does what needs to be done?

You know the answer to that question.  We do.

There is no need to depend on anyone but ourselves.  Individual members of Congress won’t do what we want; the only thing that matters to them is their continuing in office, and the money it takes to ensure this.  As for the members of the Administration; they certainly don’t care what the American people want, they don’t even seem to care very much about Democrats winning re-election.  What still seems to matter most to this group of leftists is the enactment of their radical agenda and the power which would accrue for them, hopefully in perpetuity.  In their current, (about to be burst) bubble, they don’t seem to understand that is not going to happen.

We all know why this isn’t going to happen.  It is because of what is sovereign in this nation, given to us and described for us in detail by our Founders.

The will of the American people.

Congratulate yourselves.  You weren’t cowed by the astonishingly uniform screed of the MSM against you; you sensed the truth.  You went to the expense and trouble, though you are the ones who work multiple jobs to support your families, and by the way, to pay our taxes, to find the truth.  You are the ones who, though being told by Obama and your other betters to shut up and go back to work to pay the taxes they determine are necessary, (your patriotic duty, don’t you know), spoke out – no, you screamed from the rooftops – to preserve, in fact to save, our country.

I don’t know if you understand exactly how formidable you are.

The radicals had in power the most leftist President in the history of this nation, and he appointed people to serve in positions of power in his Administration, many without Constitutionally-required Senate approval, who were as or more radical than Obama.  The House of Representatives is led by leftist radical Nancy Pelosi, who ran and continues (Ms. Pelosi is not one who lives in reality; she’s from San Francisco) to run the House ‘as if it were her Politiburo.’  The hilarious Harry Reid (what deluded individual or group of individuals decided he would make an effective Senate Majority Leader?) though trying his little heart out, couldn’t perform as effectively as Pelosi, so his Senate stumbled and fumbled around in trying to enact a radical left agenda, under the hapless (‘the war is lost’) Reid.

Neither body succeeded, despite their phenomenal, almost never before seen, majorities in both Houses of Congress.  This was accompanied by a sycophantic media, who while praising everything left, simultaneously either didn’t cover or slammed everything Republican and/or right of center.  At the same time, academia and Hollywood continued in their considerable efforts in demonizing and trivializing everything not in total obeisance to Obama and his like in Congress.

You had everything against you, and yet you have persevered.  Whether or not you had ever heard the above words in George Washington’s Farewell Address, you felt them and you knew that you should effect the General’s order: “Let there be no change by usurpation.”  You knew, whether or not you had ever read the applicable parts of the U.S. Constitution, what this country was meant to be all about, and you did this by a degree so far superior to our elected betters, that history has basically been rewritten, thanks to you.

You did this through sheer love of country, confidence in your uniqueness and specialness as Americans, in your right (given us in our Constitution, not by government or anyone in it) to individual determination, strength of spirit (wonder where we got that?) and your refusal to be ruled by anyone, much less by someone who thinks he knows better than the American people.

You have certainly demonstrated to the misguided fools in temporary power in the United States what it means, and what it is, to be a real American.   You have pointed out to them that they can keep their “transformed America,” but they really need to take it and implement it, and their own selves, somewhere other than the country you love.  Having been forewarned by General George Washington and the other Founders what might happen if we are not vigilant, we will be so in perpetuity, as long as we understand the greatness of this country.  Let what you have done be an example, in effect a beacon, to anyone still in the left who might contemplate another attempted takeover of the United States of America.  We can all pray to Divine Providence, which is how George Washington often referred to his God, that the overreach, hubris and complete failure of Obama and his people will keep us from ever again electing the left to power in our beloved country.

We cherish and will continue to cherish what George Washington and the others gave us with such reverence, and thus will take whatever actions are necessary to protect America from enemies both without, and within.
