Detroit: 70-Year-Old Coach Shoots Attackers During Attempted Robbery

Two teenagers allegedly tried to rob a 70-year-old girl’s basketball coach as he was walking two students to their cars near a Detroit high school. When the attackers brandished a gun, the coach pulled out his gun and shot both suspects. One of the teenagers was killed and the other was injured.

The coach has a permit to carry a gun and is reportedly a police reserve officer.

The two students and the coach were unharmed as a result of the coach’s decision to carry a firearm for self-defense.
