A clothing store owner was in a back room closing down the shop for the night when he heard his wife scream from the front of the store. The owner left his son in the back and walked to the entrance, where he was confronted by an armed robber. The intruder immediately fired at store owner Smail Gueddari and missed, lodging a bullet between nearby mannequins.

Gueddari proceeded to draw his own firearm and fired two shots, striking and killing the would-be robber. The store has been robbed twice before and authorities say they won’t be pressing charges.

“Anybody in my place would have done what I do,” Gueddari said on Monday.
