A Louisiana homeowner had to defend himself with a firearm after an intruder covered in blood broke-in his household. The suspect was spotted earlier covered in blood and acting “irate” in the streets. NOPD warned residents to be on the lookout and when officers managed to confront the man he pushed an officer to the ground and ran away. The homeowner grabbed his firearm when the suspect broke in and shot him, killing the invader.

Police heard a gunshot from nearby and saw the homeowner emerge from the house calling for help. The homeowner feared for his life and the other residents in his house–police say no charges will be filed.
