A Florida man arrived at his home around 4 PM and called police to report a burglary in progress. Two suspects, a man and woman were in the process of robbing his home when the homeowner took out his firearm and pointed it at the two–ordering them to wait.

While the homeowner was on the phone with dispatch, the male invader lunged and attempted to attack the homeowner. In self-defense, the homeowner fired his weapon, striking the robber in the leg. Police arrived soon after and airlifted the criminal to a local hospital where no major injuries were sustained. The female suspect suffer minor injuries from a ricochet and is also recovered. The couple will be charged with burglary and grand theft of a dwelling–while the authorities believe the homeowner will not be charged.
