Tip: Don't bring a bow to a gun fight

A single sex offender armed with a bow was shot and killed by Buncombe County (NC) Sheriff’s deputies serving a warrant:

Sheriff Van Duncan says his deputies were approaching a home around 3 p.m. Wednesday to serve a warrant for failure to register as a sex offender when a man ran at them.

Duncan says deputies shot after the man fired a hunting bow at close range.

The man was pronounced dead at the scene. His name has not been released, but Duncan says he was a registered sex offender in California and Washington State.

Problem solved.
