Florida sheriff arrested over defending man's 2nd amendment rights wins case, is immediately reinstated.

Former Liberty County Sheriff Nick Finch has been immediately reinstated into office by Governor Rick Scott.

The announcement was made Thursday afternoon, just hours after an eight-person found Finch not guilty of charges of official misconduct and falsifying public records.

Finch had been on trial for several days.

The eight-person jury handed down the non guilty verdict shortly after noon on Thursday, October 31.

The good guys win one every once in a while.

Finch had been arrested by the FDLE after he stood up for the rights of Floyd Eugene Parrish, who he felt had been wrongfully arrested by one of his deputies for carrying a concealed weapon. Finch released Parrish from jail, and was accused by prosecutors of destroying jail documents related to the arrest.
