A man with a concealed-weapons permit shot and killed an alleged robber in an incident outside of a New York Fried Chicken restaurant that ultimately left two men dead, investigators said Thursday.

The two related shootings occurred around 12:45 a.m. Oct. 31 at 734 S. Division Ave.

One of the people killed was the robbery suspect, police have said. His name has not been released.

The robber was dead at the scene, while the victim shot afterward appears to have died at the hospital.

The incident occurred following a concert and the area seems as it it was saturated with people, so the police are still sorting out testimony. The story indicates that the concealed carrier did not draw his weapon until the robber turned his gun on him, and he has not been charged.
