Texas inches toward handgun open carry

The 2014 Texas gubernatorial contest is a fairly simply one. Republicans will pick a candidate during their primaries, and whoever win that contest will then likely go on to defeat Wendy Davis, a radical Democrat almost singularly known for her support of infanticide.

At the moment, Greg Abbott is the GOP front-runner and he is a strong supporter of legalizing open carry:

In a speech earlier this month, Attorney General and GOP gubernatorial candidate Greg Abbott proposed allowing concealed handgun license holders to carry their firearms openly. Gun advocates say Abbott’s proposal reflects growing acceptance within Texas of unconcealed handguns, and some predict open carry laws could pass as soon as 2015.

Here’s hoping that Abbott and his GOP challengers are all on the same page regarding open carry. Davis, I suspect, is a lost cause.
