Drug Abuser With A BB Gun Attempts to Rob Pharmacist Armed With A Real Gun, With Predictable Results

A 24-year-old armed robber attempted to rob a Hialeah, Florida pharmacy this week of prescription drugs with a BB gun. He got a different buzz instead:

Investigators said Victor Navarro, 24, walked into 41 HealthMart, 820 E. 41st St., around 12:15 p.m. demanding Xanax. Navarro left and came back, lifting up his shirt to show a weapon, which turned out to be a BB gun.

A pharmacy employee fatally shot Navarro, who investigators said had a serious drug problem.

The 70-year-old pharmacy manager will not face charges.
