Tennessee Teen Collects Bullets And A Burglary Charge

A Madison County, Tennessee man saw a man past the front window of his home, and then a short time later, nearly napping, suddenly there came a tapping, as of someone gently rapping, rapping at his chamber… wait a minute,  that’s the wrong story.

What actually happened is that after the homeowner heard someone tapping at his window, he saw a brick come through it, and decided to reciprocate with some projectiles of his own:

As the burglar was entering the bathroom window, the homeowner shot at him, authorities said.

The burglar went back out the window and ran, the release said.

The homeowner described one burglar as a black male, tall, slender and possibly wearing jeans, the release said. A second burglar involved in this incident was described as a black male in dark clothing. Both were either in their teens or early 20s, authorities said.

In the process of checking the area, deputies made contact with the 16-year-old on Denmark-Jackson Road. The teen had two gunshot wounds to his arm. He was taken to Jackson-Madison County General Hospital for treatment. After he was released from the hospital, he was taken to the Juvenile Detention Center.

The 16-year-old has been charged with aggravated burglary.

He’s not a very good criminal. Once he gets out of juvenile detention, perhaps he might want to think about trying to get a legitimate job.
