Columbus, Ohio Robber Attacks A "Good Guy With a Gun," Dies

One of these days criminals are going to learn that too much of the population chooses to go armed these days to make violent crime a long-term career. Alleged Columbus, Ohio robber David Mullins learned that lesson last night the hard way.

Just after midnight on Sunday, Police responded to a reported shooting on Hayden Avenue in west Columbus.

When officers arrived, they found 28-year-old David Mullins suffering from gunshot wounds. Mullins died at the scene.

At the same time, a man contacted Columbus police and admitted he shot Mullins. He told officers that he shot him in self-defense after Mullins attempted to rob him.

Police say evidence indicates Mullins was attempting to rob the shooter when he was killed.

It does not appear that the shooter will face in charges in the case, based upon the evidence collected thus far.
