GA Business Owner Requires Employees to Judge Others

A business owner in Atlanta, GA who runs several offices throughout the state, isn’t risking his employee’s safety: he’s owning it.

After hearing about rising violent crime in and around the Atlanta area, Lance Toland decided to put a new office procedure in place.

He now requires all employees to get a concealed carry permit and be armed for their protection.

“They all had their conceal carry permit within three to four weeks of me announcing that this was something you had to do,” he said. “With the presentation of their license, they all got a 410 Judge Pistol.”

An aircraft insurance company doing business worldwide, Lance Toland Associates has offices in Griffin, St. Simons Island and Atlanta, where 2015 ended on a seven year high in terms of murders committed in the southern city.

Toland doesn’t want his employees to become part of that statistic, even encouraging them to carry openly in the office.

“Everybody has one of these in their drawer or on their person. I would not want to come into one of my facilities. It’s a 5 shot 410, just like a shotgun and you call it hand cannon. I have a number of offices and most of my employees are women,” he says.

While his employees may be safe, what do the high rolling owners of private jets Lance Toland insures think of his policy?

“A lot of my clients are high fiving when they hear this. They think it’s the best things for a company to mandate gun ownership and be responsible,” he said.

Well done, Lance Toland. I’ll tell you this much; if I had a private plane, I’d gladly insure said plane with you!
