How stupid are kids/criminals these days?

Pretty stupid. X’s 2.

Two Florida teenagers just couldn’t keep their crime to themselves. The Orange County Sheriff’s Office says the pair of teenagers, ages 15 and 17, sent out a SnapChat filmed in a Cypress Creek High School bathroom showing off their guns, even pointing a gun at the camera.

“I honestly had a panic attack. I have anxiety and it made me have a panic attack, it freaked me out,” said one local parent.

The parent, who received the SnapChat from the teens, immediately alerted the police.

“It’s our job to keep our children safe at home, but we are entrusting you in keeping our children safe at school and obviously you are not doing your job,” the parent said.

The Sheriff’s office worked with school officials to identify the teens in the video and they were arrested immediately. Officials confirm they recovered the gun from the 17-year-old’s backpack. Each teen faces charges of possession of a firearm on school property and possession of a firearm by a minor.

Orange County Public Schools released the following statement:

“Orange County Public Schools commends the actions of the student and parent from Cypress Creek High School who reported what they saw on social media. Their efforts kept the school and community safe. At no time during the school day was anyone threatened by the students who were arrested by the Orange County Sheriff’s Office. Cypress Creek High School does have law enforcement presence on campus. The district also relies on the ‘See Something Say Something’ campaign that has proven successful at preventing dangerous situations.”

The Cypress Creek High School calls this an “isolated incident” and praised the parent for their quick actions.
