Family Blames Police After Girl Dies Stealing Car, Until This Cop's Epic Response Shuts Them Down

This isn’t the first time a criminal’s family has blamed cops when their relative dies committing a crime, and it certainly won’t be the last.

Three teenagers in St. Petersburg, Florida asked a 36-year-old man for a ride and decided to hijack his car when he stopped before dropping the girls off at their destination. When the car owner reported the vehicle stolen, local police officers began to tail the car in an effort to slow them down.

Instead, the girls failed to slow down for a sharp curve and went into a nearby pond, quickly submerging 15 feet underwater.

In a video released by the police dash cam, officers can be heard assessing the situation:

“It’s going all the way down. It’s almost fully submerged.”

“They’re done. They’re done. They are sig 7, dude.”

“Sig 7” refers to signal 7, a radio code for “dead person.”

Of course, the mainstream media immediately leapt on this footage as proof that the officers did nothing to try and save the girls lives. The criminal’s families argued that the cops deserved to be punished, and sued the department.

Which prompted the Sheriff’s Office to post this clip, proving his department’s innocence and destroying any argument from the families:
