Twice this weekend, my fellow Americans engaged in mass panic over absolutely nothing.

In Raleigh, NC, reports of an “active shooter” at the food court in Crabtree Valley Mall led to a full on panic that put 12 people in local hospital emergency rooms with injuries resulting from falls and being trampled.

The panic appears to be completely unfounded. There were no shooting victims, no signs of bullet impacts anywhere in the mall, no shell casings, no suspects, and no arrests, all because there was no shooting.

Police were called to the Triangle’s largest mall just after 2:30 p.m. Saturday on the report of gunshots fired, but, after four hours of searching, they found no shooter, no one who had a gunshot wound and no shell casings.

“We have not determined that there was a shooter,” said Raleigh Police Chief Cassandra Deck-Brown on Saturday. “We’re looking at all possibilities.”

Security was increased at the mall Sunday, but police said that after interviewing all witnesses to the incident, there is no indication that a gunshot was fired.

“All known witnesses to yesterday’s occurrences have been interviewed and there remains no explanation for the loud noise that people reported,” said a press release from the Raleigh Police Department.

The same sort of mass hysteria repeated itself at JFK International Airport in New York yesterday, where two passengers freaked out over a loud sound and called police in a panic. Hundreds of passenger-lemmings “hid” (I use that in the most sarcastic sense possible) from not-existent threats, then were ordered out of the terminal as officers rushed into the airport to discover… absolutely nothing.

Police have given the all-clear at John F. Kennedy International Airport after reports of shots fired Sunday night inside Terminal 8, a New York law enforcement official told CNN.

Two people reported hearing what they thought were shots fired, law enforcement sources said. Police went floor to floor to clear the airport and ensure there was nothing to be found, a source said. Surveillance video from inside the terminal did not show any shooting.

Police from the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey evacuated the terminal to be cautious, spokesman Joe Pentangelo said. There were no injuries or arrests.

USA Today says that one of the delusional JFK passengers even claims that she saw a gun.

Thousands of passengers at John F. Kennedy (JFK) International Airport in New York City were forced to evacuate late Sunday after a passenger told police she saw a man with a gun in one of the terminals, New York media reported.

Shortly after 9:30 p.m. ET, the woman told an officer about the alleged gunman, leading police to hunt for an armed man, the New York Post reported. Evacuated passengers took cover behind cement traffic barriers as a New York Police Department (NYPD) Emergency Services Unit officer with automatic weapons scoured the area.

Inbound flights were temporarily diverted to Buffalo.

Police sources told the Post they found no evidence of shots fired but continued to search the terminal. Videos taken by evacuated passengers showed hundreds of people waiting outside terminal entrances.

What has led us to a point where the American people every loud sound is interpreted as a gunshot?

Oh, I think you know.

The mainstream media has been grossly exaggerating the number of incidents and ferocity of crime in the United States during the Obama Administration in a patently dishonest attempt to build support for gun control laws favored among the white, wealthy chattering classes long derisively known as “limousine liberals.”

They’re responsible for leading much more credence to small (in numbers) gun control groups like Moms Demand Action and the Brady Campaign than they deserve. They’re responsible for pushing stories that grossly exaggerate the number of mass shootings and school shootings by using propaganda they know to be faked.

They’re responsible for uncritically echoing any statement made by their allies in the Democrat Party regarding firearms, even when it’s as obviously false as the so-called “90-Percent Lie” from President Obama and then Secretary of State Hillary Clinton (both claimed 90-percent of the guns in in use by Mexican drug cartels came from U.S dealers; the ATF confirmed that less than 8-percent of cartel guns came from the United States).

The mainstream media has created a Chicken Little America, where most Americans think violent crime is up due to sensationalist reporting, when violent crime, including murders with firearms are at an all-time low.

If you’re apprehensive, scared that violent crime is at some sort of record high, you’ve been lied to.
