Yikes! Copper .44 Magnum Bullet Causes Freaky Detonation of AIR Inside Gel Block

I’ve been told by people I respect that .44 Magnum is “too much gun” for self-defense, both in terms of being able to control it for fast follow-up shots, and for a tendency to grossly overpenetrate, which suggests that much of the energy carried by the bullet is wasted.

After seeing this video, I think I’ll pass on getting shot with it all the same, especially after it seemingly cause some sort of detonation within the block as the temporary stretch cavity collapsed which jetted a stream of burnt gasses and material out the front of the block.

Yikes!
