Here's What's Currently Going On with Gun Shows In Nevada

A third gun show in Nevada has been canceled this week following the Las Vegas shooting which left 58 dead and upwards of 500 injured.

The Grand Sierra Resort in Reno announced Thursday that it will no longer be hosting the Rocky Mountain Gun Show this Friday through Sunday out of respect for the victims and their families.

“We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause our guests and greatly appreciate their understanding in this emotional time,” the hotel and casino said in a news release, according to USA Today. “The Grand Sierra Resort expresses our deepest condolences and most sincere sympathies for all those involved or affected by the Las Vegas tragedy.”

The gun show’s organizers have not yet commented on the event cancellation.

Last weekend, the Western Trails Gun and Knife Show, originally set to take place at the Eastside Cannery Casino in Las Vegas, was also scrapped. According to the Las Vegas Review-Journal, this was a “mutual decision” between the gun show organizers and the owner of the casino, Boyd Gaming.

The same paper reported that the Crossroads of the West gun show, scheduled for Oct. 21-22 at at the Cashman Center in Las Vegas, has been postponed indefinitely.

While these three shows have been canceled, there are still plenty more to come next month.

What do you think: Did these resort-casinos and gun show organizers make the right call?
