Worst Employee of the Week Award Goes to THIS Guy

The Springfield Golf and Country Club in Virginia sounds like a nice enough place, but it was the scene of a bizarre attempted armed kidnapping on Monday by a former employee.

Witnesses say Donald Weber, 56, had been acting strangely and making unsettling comments – talking about kidnapping children and eating people’s brains – before he was fired from the golf course. After letting Weber go, his former boss feared Weber would try to harm him and was concerned enough about his safety that he bought a gun for protection.

That gun came in handy Monday when Weber entered the grounds and approached his old boss and another man around 12:30 p.m.

Police say Weber displayed a gun and tossed two sets of handcuffs at the men, telling them to put them on and enter the office in the maintenance building nearby, according to the statement.

Instead, the victims acted like they were cooperating by picking up the handcuffs and walking toward the maintenance building but took off running, the statement says.

That’s when Weber’s former boss retrieved his gun from his truck, and following a brief standoff between Weber and the victim, Weber fled the scene. According to the statement, the two men only shouted at each other with guns drawn but no shots were fired in the standoff.

Weber was located by police and taken to jail where stated he was simply “defending his life, liberty and pursuit of happiness”. He has been charged with unlawful use of a weapon and two counts of attempted felonious restraint and is being held on $45,000 bond.

Glad to hear Weber’s former boss can say “I’m alright” after that incident and was able to protect himself with a gun without even firing one bullet.

Anyone else feeling Caddyshacky after that story?
