Progress: MSNBC Host Admits Gun Ownership Isn't a "Fringe" Thing

For the past two months we’ve been hearing from progressives and certain politicians like Chuck Schumer that groups like the NRA and gun owners sit on the “fringe” of American society. Considering there are an estimated 60-90 million gun owners in America, that argument hardly holds water, but that hasn’t stopped the media from reporting it. We saw MSNBC’s Toure essentially say he thinks law abiding gun owners should be treated like sex offenders after The Journal News published the names, addresses and a detailed map of where gun permit holders living in Westchester County, New York. We’ve seen CNN Pier’s Morgan berate gun owners for “unreasonable” stances of non-compromise as he claims to support the Second Amendment and gun ownership of the types of firearms Americans “need.” But today on MSNBC’s Morning Joe co-host Mika Brzezinski was at least willing to admit gun ownership isn’t “fringe,” although she personally doesn’t understand why anybody would want to own one.

The other upside? Mika was at least trying to educate herself on the issue because most people with her anti-gun views really just don’t know what they’re talking about.
