Homeowner Shoots Female Intruder, Makes Surprising Discovery

A homeowner in Dekalb County, GA shot and killed a woman who broke into his home just after 2 a.m. on Monday morning.

Or did he?

As it turns out, the intruder was actually a man dressed as a woman. The burglar forced his way in through a window of the home in Lithonia near Brownsville road. He was wearing a woman’s blond wig. Police suspect the intruder may be someone who is familiar in the community and has often been seen riding a bike around the area, dressed as a woman. So far they have not been able to attach any names to the suspect.

The homeowner issued a warning and fired when the intruder refused to stop advancing, according to DeKalb County Police Lt. Lonzy Robertson.

“The homeowner gave him a warning. The suspect continued to approach him at which time the homeowner fired one shot.”

The victim declined to speak with local tv reporters, but neighbor William Jordan says the victim did the right thing.

“I got girls. I got my wife, my daughter, my granddaughter…so…I don’t blame him. Good for him.”

Police say the homeowner will not face any charges.
