Bloomberg, Menino don new jerseys to pitch ending gun rights

In purchasing the most expensive commercial time in television, New York City Mayor Michael R. Bloomberg and Boston Mayor Thomas Menino made their pitch to end gun rights in America for the Bloomberg-led Mayors Against Illegal Guns.

In the traditional dueling bets, Menino bet Bloomberg that if the New York Giants a Boston vacation with a room at the Ritz-Carlton hotel, dinner at Legal Sea Food and box seats to either a Celtics or Bruins game. Bloomberg’s offer to a Boston family, if the Patriots win, will get a meal at the new Russian Tea Room, tickets to see “Phantom of the Opera” and a special guided tour of the Metropolitan Museum of Art.
