Colorado sheriffs join recall of anti-gun state senators

Six of the 55 Colorado Sheriffs are attending a rally today against two state senators facing recall elections.

The rally is from 12 PM to 1 PM MDT and is being held at the Pioneer Museum in Colorado Springs.

The Sheriffs who will be in attendance are part of the group of 55 who have filed suit to have Colorado’s new gun control laws overturned: El Paso County Sheriff Terry Maketa, Weld County Sheriff John Cooke, Teller County Sheriff Mike Ensminger, Douglas County Sheriff Dave Weaver, Gilpin County Sheriff Bruce Hartman, and Cheyenne County Sheriff Ken Putnam.

Senate President John Morse and senator Angela Giron are facing recalls for forcing through anti-gun measures that have cost the state manufacturing and tourism jobs, and which are part of the reason some northern counties of the state are threatening to secede.

East Coast anti-gun Democrats nationwide are pouring hundreds of thousands of dollars into the recall, fearing that if either Giron or Morse fall in the recall, that gun control efforts nationally will be crippled.
