Tacti-Katie! Katie Pavlich at the IDPA Indoor Nationals

Townhall.com’s own Katie Pavlich competed in her first International Defensive Pistol Association [IDPA] match, the Indoor Nationals at the Smith & Wesson Shooting Sports Center in Springfield, Massachusetts. She was invited to participate by world shooting champion Julie Golob, and Julie helped coach her through all 13 stages of the match.

You are not likely to get this sort of coaching at your first match.

The stage above is called “Photoshoot,” and this is how Katie described it:

Photoshoot: You’ve just been signed by a big company as a sponsored shooter. During your photoshoot as the next big star, armed robbers try to take your new stash of ammo. This was my best stage.

You can watch Katie shoot all 13 stages of the match in her article at Townhall.com. I’m going to hit her up for pointers the next time I see her.
