WikiLeaks Reveals Clinton Campaign 'Co-Opted' to Push their Anti-Gun Agenda

During the latest round of WikiLeaks, it was revealed that the Hillary Clinton campaign used the death of Eric Garner, the man who died while being arrested by NYPD, to advocate for gun control.

The emails show Clinton’s team discussing a potential OpEd they drafted on gun violence that would run in the New York Daily News. At one point, Nick Merrill, a spokesman for the campaign brought up the potential use of Garner’s case:

I know we have Erica Garner issues but we don’t want to mention Eric at all? I can see her coming after us for leaving him out of the piece.

It’s not shocking that the Clinton campaign was attempting to take advantage of Garner’s death. The unfortunate part is how uninformed her team was on Garner’s case.

Eric Garner’s daughter, Erica, took to Twitter to unveil her disdain for the Clinton campaign.

Erica Garner explained her take on the revelation:

It was obvious that the two white men that were on the email chain didn’t even know that my dad wasn’t shot. It was clear that he was just a dead body for them to manipulate for their use. White liberals have been trying to cram racism into the box of gun violence for a while now.

The Clinton team taking advantage of a dead body? You don’t say!

But Garner said it best with this one tweet:

Gun control advocates will do anything and everything in their power to manipulate stories and statistics to fit their political agenda. The Clinton campaign should be absolutely ashamed of themselves.
