Convenience Store Clerk Shoots Would-be Robber

A food mart clerk had been robbed once before, and decided to keep a gun on the premise in case it happened again. A few weeks later, a man came into the store wearing a mask and brandishing his gun–the robber demanded all the money in the cash register.

Fearing for his own life, the clerk pulled his own firearm and told the criminal to drop his weapon. When the suspect wouldn’t comply, the owner fired his weapon once–striking the robber. The suspect attempted to flee, but collapsed on the concrete sidewalk outside the store, suffering from a gunshot wound to the stomach.

Police have arrested the suspect and he is being treated at a local hospital. The store owner will not be charged and acted in self-defense.
