Liquor Store Owner Armed in Second Robbery Attempt

69-year-old Arturo Taveras was tied up and whipped several times during an attempted robbery of his liquor store in Lawrence, MA back in 2011. He survived the attack and swore to himself that he would never let that happen again. The liquor store owner purchased a gun to protect himself and his store, a move that paid off Sunday night when a masked gunman came into his store and demanded all of the owner’s money. Taveras pulled out his gun and pointed it at the gunman, who quickly fled the scene. Police are continuing their search of the suspect. To read more about this story, click here.
