A southeast Harris County man shot and killed a woman he said was part of a group of people who robbed him at gunpoint, authorities said.

The man told detectives two men and a woman forced their way into his home in the 14400 block of Cypress Meadow at Teal about 5 p.m. Thursday. They held him at gunpoint, he said.

“As the suspects were leaving, he was able to retrieve a gun and he shot the female in the driveway of his residence,” said Sgt. Ben Beall, of the Harris County Sheriff’s Office.

The woman, a 47-year-old Pearland resident, was dead in the front seat of a car in the driveway. The two men fled in a green Chevrolet pickup, detectives said.

The man told detectives he didn’t know the three. He was not injured, officials said.

Late Thursday, detectives said they have yet to determine why the man’s home was targeted and what might have been taken.
