PREDICTABLE: Baltimore Bleeds After Democrats Attack Police

President Barack Obama made it perfectly clear from 2009 onward that he holds law enforcement officers with a contempt, a fact born out time and again as he sends representatives to the funerals of violent criminals such as Trayvon Martin and Michael Brown, while ignoring the deaths of officers who have fallen in the line of duty in service to their communities.

This perverse sentiment is rife within the Democrat Party, and has become both pervasive and public.

The antipathy towards police from Baltimore Mayor Stephanie Rawlings-Blake and prosecutor Marilyn Mosby has now lead to a huge rift in trust between a Democrat city government that has allied itself with gangs, looters, and rioters. and the Baltimore Police. The police are now in a defensive posture amid concerns that they are being targeted for ambush from criminal gangs, and are not rushing to calls without support.

The inevitable result is that criminals are taking advantage of the law enforcement slowdown to purge one another.

A pair of gray-and-white New Balance tennis shoes lay next to a pool of blood on a street in East Baltimore Sunday afternoon, remnants of a double shooting in the same block where a 21-year-old was shot in the shoulder Friday.

It was the first of two double shootings in the city Sunday.

Another two people were shot, one of them fatally, in separate incidents on Sunday among at least 18 shootings over Memorial Day weekend, during a particularly alarming spate of gun violence.

Thirty-three people have been killed so far in May, the first time the city has had 30 homicides in a month since June 2007. No month in the last 15 years has had more than 33 killings.

It’s not “gun violence” as Baltimore Sun reporter Colin Campbell so cluelessly parrots. This is human violence, and in specific, gang violence between armed criminal groups over turf and drugs.

The police are right to be very cautious in a toxic environment where they are attacked by the Democrat-led government on one side, and Baltimore residents that seem to be more interested in supporting and excusing criminal activity than order and civility, on the other.

Arrests are down. Crime flourishes. Good people, disarmed by anti-gun Democrats, suffer.

Baltimore’s problems are of its own making, but are also the result of an orchestrated campaign from the top of the national Democrat Party, of which Mayor Rawlings-Blake is secretary.

If allowed to take take root, this anti-police sentiment will find its way to your town. Instead of proactive policing that cuts crime, you’ll see officers forced to wait to respond to calls in enough numbers to ensure mutual support, which criminals will exploit to the detriment of all.

Your city could become the next Baltimore if anti-gun, anti-police Democrats remain in power.
