Not Welcome in Umpqua: Armed Protest May Greet President's Attempt to Exploit Tragedy

We told you on Monday how Umpqua Community College attack survivors Cheyeanne Fitzgerald and Shelby Wambolt, along with the family of slain student Quinn Cooper, castigated President Barack Obama after he immediately attempted to exploit the tragedy to further his goal of stripping Americans of their right to bear arms.

Now, Stacy Boylan, father of Umpqua Community College shooting survivor Ana Boylan, has told President Obama where he can stick his radical anti-gun agenda.

On “The Kelly File” tonight, Stacy Boylan, father of Umpqua Community College shooting survivor Ana Boylan, said that President Obama’s visit to Roseburg, Oregon, on Friday is all about pushing his gun-control agenda.

“I do believe it was Rahm Emmanuel that said, ‘Never let a good tragedy go to waste,'” Boylan said, adding that he questions Obama’s motives.

Boylan said that as a Second Amendment supporter, he believes gun-free zones are a problem because they become targets for “crazy people,” who know they won’t be met with resistance.

“My daughter said to me, ‘What if somebody would have had a gun?’ Gun-free and gun control takes that option off the table,” Boylan stated. “I don’t think that’s the right course.”

He said that he’s spoken to his daughter and other family members and decided that they will not be attending the president’s visit on Friday.

“On principle, I find that I am in disagreement with his policies on gun control, and therefore, we will not be attending the visit.”

Boylan notes that gun free zones are overwhelmingly the favored targets for mass murders. 92-percent of all mass killers target so-called gun free zones (PDF).

Residents of Roseberg, Oregon, site of the attack, are rallying around survivors and against President Obama’s call for increased gun control in the wake of the attack. Local newspaper publisher David Jaques of the Roseberg Beacon has become a leader in the protest against Obama’s exploitation of the tragedy.

‘I think that’s very inappropriate, and I think it’s disrespectful to the families,’ Jaques told Breitbart News.

Jaques believes Obama held a press conference straight after the shooting, in which nine people were killed, with another nine injures.

In Jaques’ opinion, the press conference was too soon.

‘We haven’t even identified bodies, we’ve still got incident command trying to contain the scene, and he’s holding a press conference 3,000 miles away from here, telling — almost implying that he could have single-handedly prevented this if the Congress would have listened to him.’

‘I think he admitted it himself.

‘His visit here isn’t a re-election campaign stop, but it is a campaign stop for an agenda that he and his associates believe is important.

‘And that is to take away Americans right to own firearms.’

Roseberg residents have set up a “Defend Roseberg” Facebook page planning a counter-protest of the President’s planned visit.

The anointed one his majesty king 0bama and the White House have announced a Friday arrival in Roseburg, Oregon in the wake of Oct 1st’s horrific tragedy at UCC.

Polarizing as usual, Mr 0bama has insisted on politicizing the event as a conduit for increased executive orders on gun control via means of his pen, and his phone.

This blatant disrespect of the victims families, the community and the town of Roseburg, Mr 0bama’s administration is flying not just the 747 that is airforce one to Oregon, but a three helicopter team of Sikorsky’s that make up HMX-1, known as Marine one to travel to Roseburg at the taxpayers expense.

We need a lot of people. Please come show your support for Roseburg, not the little man who has no respect for the Constitution.

In a little more than a day, more than 2,700 people have expressed an interest in attending the protest against President Obama’s attempt to exploit the tragedy during a Friday visit.

Kit Lange, one of the organizers of the protest, expects that at least some of the protesters will be armed.

This rally has gone viral in less than 24 hours. While we appreciate the support, this means we need to make very clear what our goals are, and what the purpose of this action is.

1. The town of Roseburg has already made it incredibly clear that Obama is NOT welcome there, and they do not want him to come. He is choosing to ignore that.

2. Our purpose is NOT to broker a violent confrontation with government officials on any level. If that is your intent, do not attend. Anyone who comes and commits violent acts or attempts to cause chaos is NOT sanctioned by us.

3. Our purpose is very simple: We mourn with Roseburg, and we respect their wish to be left alone to mourn. They do not want Obama there, and the President does not have the right to force himself on the people. We as Americans and patriots will do our peaceful and non-violent best to ensure their wishes are respected.

4. We will not tell you how to carry or what to carry if you plan to bring firearms, although we politely suggest that you consider choosing a handgun instead of a rifle, if you plan to open carry. That being said, the SINGLE MOST IMPORTANT THING is that regardless of what you carry, that you do so safely, responsibly, and with the highest level of decorum and conduct.

As Washington wrote, “Remember that you are Freemen, fighting for the blessings of Liberty – that slavery will be your portion, and that of your posterity, if you do not acquit yourselves like men.”

The nation, and the world, is watching. Please, act accordingly.

The residents of Roseberg, Oregon and families of the victims of the Umpqua Community College attack are clearly hostile to the President’s intention to exploit this tragedy.

Whether this President will take heed of their warnings remains to be seen.
