Obama, Bloomberg Conspire Against Gun Owners With New Executive Orders

The radical left may find that it’s amusing to use representatives of a fictional authoritarian government to push real authoritarian policies, but I’m not so easily amused.

As his administration prepares an executive order tightening access to guns, President Barack Obama met Wednesday with former New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg, a proponent of new gun laws who has become the chief enemy of the National Rifle Association.

Obama has met with a series of gun control advocates in recent weeks as his aides complete work on a potential order expected to expand background checks on gun sales by closing the so-called “gun show loophole.”

A timeline on the order — which has been tangled in legal and administrative questions — is still unknown.

This afternoon, an Obama aide said that the President will push forward with his executive orders in a matter of “weeks, not months.”

The Administration has been conspiring against the right of Americans to own firearms since the earliest days of the Obama Presidency, when Obama’s Department of Justice smuggled thousands of guns to Mexican drug cartels in an attempt to manufacture a reason to reinstate the 1994 “assault weapon” ban. The smuggling operation known as “Operation Fast & Furious” has resulted in more than 300 homicides on both sides of the border, including law enforcement officers, politicians, and children.

To date, the Obama Administration still refuses to cooperate with congressional oversight committees, and no one has been fired for the smuggling operation, much less charged in federal court with a crime. Former Attorney General Eric Holder had been held in criminal contempt of Congress for his roll in stonewalling the investigation, but the U.S. Attorney responsible for arresting Holder has resolutely refused to carry out his lawful duty in the matter.
