Democrat Presidential candidate Hillary Clinton said yesterday that “we have just too many guns,” in the United States, intentionally failing to differentiate between firearms owned by law-abiding citizens and the ever-shrinking number of firearms used to commit violent crimes.
Stephen Gutowski has the details.
Hillary Clinton told a group of supporters on Wednesday that America has too many guns.
During her opening remarks at a gun violence forum in Philadelphia, the Democratic frontrunner attacked the gun industry as the most powerful special interest in America and lamented how many firearms exist in the country.
“When it comes to guns, we have just too many guns,” Clinton said. “On the streets, in our homes, in our neighborhoods. And, you know, there’s been a lot of talk in this campaign, in the primary campaign, about the power of certain interests in our country. And we do have a bunch of powerful interests, make no mistake about it. But there is no more powerful lobby than the gun lobby.”
The most telling thing about Hillary Clinton’s attacks of the fundamental human right to bear arms in one’s defense is that she continually targets not those weapons used in the vast majority of crimes (illegally-acquired handguns) with her schemes, nor is she pledging to use the Department of Justice to more aggressively prosecute straw purchasers or gun traffickers.
Hillary is presently on the campaign trail with former Attorney General Eric Holder, a cad who was held in criminal contempt of Congress while in office for obstructing the Fast and Furious gun smuggling plot. Holder also led a Department of Justice that became derisively known as the “Department of Racial Justice” for its clearly biased enforcement practices with favored criminals. Holder’s DOJ also refused to aggressively prosecute straw purchasers or firearms traffickers, routinely allowing them to plea down to charges that resulted in little or no jail time, or dropped firearms charges entirely. These same disturbing practices hold true with Obama’s current Attorney General, Loretta Lynch.
Instead of going after criminals, Clinton is specifically targeting the lawful sale of long guns, particularly rifles, which are rarely used in crimes. In a nation of 320 million souls, they were so rarely used that only 248 homicides were committed in 2014, the latest year documented by the FBI.
I find it very suspect that someone so in love with authoritarian government cares so little about going after criminals, and is instead obsessed with outlawing the firearms that citizens would find most useful in opposing tyrannical government.
What is your real agenda, ma’am?
