What is your favorite deer rifle?

I grew up hunting whitetail deer in the cut-downs, swamps, and beanfields of eastern North Carolina, where yet another season is upon us in just six days. My first deer rifle is still my favorite; my father’s old Remington 721 in .30-’06, mounted with generic 3-9×40 scope, similar to this one from an expired listing at Armslist.

I’ve since grown up and moved away, but that rifle is always the one I have the fondest memories of for its role in my first hunts.
