Say hello to my little friends...

Let me introduce you to what my friends at Templar Custom call “the twins.” They are a pair of demonstration rifles that showcase some of Templar’s products.

Of course, as the gaping maw of the rifle on the left shows you, these are fraternal twins, not identical twins.

The AR-based .50 Beowulf PDW (personal defense weapon) dressed out in Templar’s FastRail handguard (left above, and bottom in the picture below) throws half-inch thick, 400-grain pellets, and can empty a magazine in less than a second. Having fired it in the past, I can tell you that it is a “moving experience,” especially if you aren’t properly braced to against recoil and energy on par with that of the venerable .45/70.

The other twin (right above, and top in the picture below) featuring the slick-sided RaceRail is chambered in .223 Wylde, so that it can fire 5.56 NATO and .223 Remington ammunition equally well.

Both fire at a cyclic rate of 908 rounds per minute, and no, you may not have one (until we manage to get FOPA ’86 repealed, and even then I’m calling “dibs”).

I’ll be very interested to see if the new MC-E brake works as well on the .50 Beowulf as it does the .223 Wylde.

My shoulder is a little less interested, but doesn’t have a lot of say in the matter.
