Lying to protect "the big lie" of gun free zones

I really wish I didn’t have to write this post, but these execrable “journalists” covering the Arapahoe High School shooting are giving me little choice but to confront their deception head-on.

As we now know, the shooter yesterday in Centennial, CO,  was an 18-year-old male. He was presumably angry with the school librarian (who was also the coach of the debate team). The shooter took the debate team very seriously, and there was some sort of  change in his status on the team, though it remains unclear at the moment whether he was kicked off the team, suspended from it, or merely demoted.

In any event, the shooter entered the school screaming for the librarian-coach, who managed to escape. Two other students were injured, one of whom is in critical condition. Another was treated and released for minor injuries. The shooter then apparently attempted to set off some homemade incendiary devices to little effect before committing suicide with his shotgun.

Before the evening was over, the shooter’s name was released, and the world was made aware of his radical political beliefs.

Thomas Conrad, who had an economics class with the gunman, described him as a very opinionated Socialist.

By this morning, that description had been edited without notice by the Denver Post. It now reads:

Thomas Conrad, who had an economics class with Pierson, described him as very opinionated.

1984 is alive and well in Colorado, where “journalists” dare not let the idea of American socialism be linked to murder. It would be easy to go down a long list of murderous American socialist assassins and terrorists (perhaps readers could make a “game” of seeing how many they can name in the comments), but the whitewashing of his political beliefs is a sideshow.

The much more disturbing example of what George Orwell called Newspeak is a rewriting of the failure of another “gun free zone,” and the police model of rapid response to such an event.

Our media is reliably, overwhelmingly leftist (typically, socialist or communist) in their political beliefs. This is not opinion, and not up for debate. It simply is.

Likewise, it is beyond argument that the majority of them have bizarre views on firearms. They ascribe evil powers to firearms as an object of horror, paralleling Jacob’s cursed The Monkey’s Paw. For such “intelligent” and “educated” beings, their actions and language are unmistakably superstitious. Burn the witch, indeed. Their superstitious beliefs give totemic powers to paper laws and “gun free zone” signs, and ascribe supernatural powers to first responders.

This is  not a criticism of first responders in the slightest. I count myself fortunate to personally know or be related to a number of deputies and officers and firefighters who would run unhesitatingly towards a school under fire. But these first responders are people, not superheros. They cannot fly towards danger, but must drive, often from quite a distance away. By the time they arrive to any event involving a firearm, they are generally only able to sort the living from the dead.

This is the truth of gun free zones and the rapid response model.

The socialist media really don’t want to admit this failure, as this article regarding yesterday’s shooting aptly demonstrates:

Quick-thinking students at Arapahoe High School on Friday alerted the targeted educator, who quickly left the building. The 18-year-old shooter — identified by authorities as Karl Pierson — critically wounded a 15-year-old student, but the strategic response by police on the eve of the Newtown massacre anniversary appears to have averted more bloodshed.

About a half hour after wounding the girl, Pierson was found dead in the school, apparently of a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

“I believe the shooter took his life because he knew he had been found,” Arapahoe County Sheriff Grayson Robinson said.

“Strategic response by police… averted more bloodshed,” but “a half hour after wounding the girl” they finally found the shooter.

A half hour.

A Columbine later.

A Virginia Tech later.

Five Sandy Hooks later.

They whitewash this as a “success?”

All evidence suggests that the shooter committed suicide before the first first responders entered the school. It isn’t anyone’s fault andI’m sure the police did everything by the book to perfection, but the law enforcement response to Arapahoe High School didn’t save a single life.

Their execution may have been perfect, but the model simply doesn’t work. It never has, and it never can.

It is all part of “the big lie” that the media continues to tell, that gun free zones and a “rapid” police response will magically stop school shootings. It’s a fantasy foisted upon us by the who refuse to admit that their beliefs are wrong, and who are willing to let countless more children die rather than admit this fact.

Gun free zones are predicated on the belief that paper laws and brightly painted signs can stop evil. Is is combined with the belief that government agents 10-15 minutes away are more personally palatable than an armed staffer or teacher at the scene. It is the superstitious belief that a gun in the hands of a teacher will make them turn evil, and that these same teachers who have shown time and time against that they will protect their students with their lives while unarmed, are somehow not fit to protect them while armed.

Gun free zones are killing fields.

As Alex Rawls noted:

What society in human history ever gathered its children together, then issued a public guarantee that they would be left completely undefended?
