Producer who desensitized a generation to violence with ultra-violent slasher & revenge flicks to push anti-gun film

huh?

Harvey Weinstein grew rich producing ultra-violent, blood-soaked films such as Inglourious Basterds, Pulp Fiction, Scream, and Killshot.

His life’s work has glamorized murder, torture, and drug use, in films that took movie violence to disturbing new levels, desensitized an entire generation to gratuitous violence, and promoted blood-soaked revenge as a noble and natural act.

So it’s only natural that he’s going to make a film excoriating the nation’s oldest, largest, and most successful firearms safety, training, and civil rights group, right?

The title will be The Senator’s Wife, the star, Oscar winner Meryl Streep and the producer, The Weinstein Co. The target: the NRA. The formidable chairman of The Weinstein Co., Harvey Weinstein, confirmed to Deadline today they will be taking on the NRA gun lobby head-on with a film entitled The Senator’s Wife which will star thejust-Oscar-nominated Streep (August: Osage County) and other top talent in a movie he described as “the new Mr. Smith Goes To Washington” — the beloved Frank Capra film that starred Jimmy Stewart about one man’s fight against corrupt politicians in Washington. Weinstein announced on The Howard Stern Show that “they’re (the NRA is) going to wish they weren’t alive after I’m done with them.”

Frankly, Harvey, they won’t care at all.

We won’t care at all.

The National Rifle Association, Second Amendment Foundation, Gun Owner’s of America, etc are all growing. New gun rights groups, like Armed Citizens United, are being created. Firearm ownership is at an all-time high and is experiencing explosive growth among young, urban, and female shooters, while violent crime and accidental gun deaths continue to plummet.

Please spend billions making The Senator’s Wife. Sink everything you have into it. If you’re really aggressive with production, you might even have it out before Kill Bill: Volume 3.
