Mark Glaze, the Executive Director Mayors Against Illegal All Guns, is leaving Michael Bloomberg’s citizen control cult.

The only real question is whether he jumped out that window, or if he was pushed:

Mark Glaze, who heads up Mayors Against Illegal Guns — the pet project of former New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg — said he’s done with the group and is stepping down in June.

The issue has become exhausting, he said, Breitbart reported.

“This issue is unbelievably important to me,” he said in the report. “But it’s a tough issue and a tough grind. And there’s a point where you feel you’ve done all you can do.”

Mr. Glaze took over as executive director of the anti-gun group in 2011. His resignation does not mean he’s had a change of heart about the group’s mission. Rather, he said there was still hope to beat the National Rifle Association — it’s just going to take a while.

Glaze makes it sound like he voluntarily resigned, but I simply don’t see it.

Mayor Bloomberg has increasingly be relying upon PR executive Shannon Watts to be the face of his various gun control schemes, and after the recent rebranding of MAIG and Moms Demand under the “Everytown” banner, there simply didn’t seem to be a role for Glaze anymore.

That he has been seemingly replaced by someone as singularly as incompetent as Watts has to be infuriating to Glaze, and more than a little humiliating.

I suspect he feels more than a little betrayed. If I were in that position, I can’t say that I’d blame him.
