Here at Bearing Arms, we believe strongly in the right of the people to bear arms for not just their individual defense, but for the defense of their communities. If we had our way, every able-bodied adult of sound mind between the ages of 18-45 would be provided a rifle, marksmanship training, and periodic small unit tactics drills so that we would have the “well-regulated” (well equipped and trained) militia that the founders thought was necessary to the security of a free state.

The media and gun control groups, of course, have traditionally taken a completely different view of militias, and particularly those that they feel are right-wing and anti-government.

Actually, let’s revise that statement, because it isn’t quite true.

They’re quite fine with militia and militant groups being anti-government, as long as the militias are “fellow travelers” on the left side of the political spectrum.

Heck, we even have a President residing in the White House who infamously started his political career in the home of two of the Marxist leaders of the terrorist group called the Weather Underground, and the media completely whitewashed that association.

And so while we saw the media and gun control groups flip out when highly trained military and police veterans protected businesses and vulnerable homes in Ferguson, Missouri, the media and gun control groups have been somewhere between mute to cautiously supportive of black militant groups forming in Dallas, Texas, with the specific focus of squaring off against police.

“We felt it was up to us to patrol our communities — especially since a number of police acts of terrorism have occurred in Dallas,” said Eric Khafre with the Huey P. Newton Gun Club.

This is an organized force; a recently-formed group made up of several paramilitary organizations in Dallas. Their mission is to become a regular presence, and they are recruiting.

“We feel we can make a change in our community,” Anthony Fisher said.

They are calling themselves the Huey P. Newton Gun Club. One of the factions involved is the controversial New Black Panther Party. They say they are for gun rights and the right to openly carry guns, but make no mistake, the group doesn’t like law enforcement.

“Police are running rampant in the community, and they say police are to protect and serve, but basically they are gunning down our people,” Khafre said.

I’m all for the members of the Huey P. Newton Gun Club if their goal actually is keeping their communities safe, but it seems obvious that their focus is on being being an anti-police force.

This is quite sad and counterproductive, certain to hurt the very communities they claim they are defending.

The biggest threat to black communities are violent young black men in gangs and/or the narcotics trade, typically using illegally-acquired weapons. That they’re publicly stating their goal to square off against law enforcement officers—the very people tasked with protecting the community against violent criminals—suggests that the Huey P. Newton Gun Club’s primary focus isn’t community protection at all, but is in the Balkanization of their communities and the serving of their own radicalized political agenda.

The group is closely aligned and arguably dominated by members of the New Black Panther party, an anti-white, anti-Semitic racial supremacist organization.

The mainstream media is bizarrely neutral and dispassionate when they discuss the racism and hatred of law enforcement that seems endemic in the movement, and the various left wing gun control cults seem to want to pretend that these militants don’t exist at all.

Does anyone think that the media or these gun control groups would be as reserved if a white supremacist organization with an identical anti-police message started marching down the streets, apparently itching for a fight?

Somehow, I doubt it.
