One of the guns used by Islamic terrorists in the Paris attacks last months made its way through the United States and then back to Europe:
One of the guns linked to Islamic militants in the Paris attacks that killed 130 people was exported to the United States in 2013, the head of a Serbian arms factory said Thursday.
Milojko Brzakovic of the Zastava arms factory told The Associated Press that the M92 semi-automatic pistol’s serial number matched one his company delivered to an American online arms dealer in May 2013. It was not clear how the gun got back to Europe.
At least seven of the weapons used or discovered after the Nov. 13 attacks in Paris have been identified as being produced by the Serbian factory located in Kragujevac, in central Serbia. Most were manufactured before Yugoslavia broke up in a civil war in the 1990s and most of those are modified versions of the Soviet AK-47, or Kalashnikov.
Century Arms is not an “online arms dealer.”
That’s simply an outright lie by the Associated Press, a “news” organization with a clear political agenda.
Century is instead an importer of surplus firearms and manufacturer of firearms from parts kits. These firearms are then sold to distributors/retailers, who then conducts FBI NICS background checks before the firearms are then transferred to the buyer.
I’m not surprised in the slightest that Zastava guns were used in the Paris attacks, as many went through gray and black-market channels during and after the Yugoslavian Civil War and these guns likely changed hands a dozen times during and after the conflict.
I do find the path of the single “American” M92 to be of importance, however. It was a recently imported gun quickly reintroduced to Europe and into a terror cell with a minimum of hands and time on the gun.
The Associated Press completely whitewashes what I feel to be the real story, which is that the firearm was likely straw-purchased by a Islamic terrorist sympathizer or cell within the United States with contacts in Europe. That person or cell likely purchased multiple weapons and managed to export them to Europe around U.S. export laws without getting caught.
This gun suggests that there is an active terror cell with solid import/export capability near where this gun was retailed, and if they can send guns out, their is a strong likelihood that they can smuggle other kinds of weapons in along the same channels, including explosives, biological, chemical, and perhaps even radiological.
