Michigan, Mississippi: Hillary Is Coming for Your Guns

Bernie Sanders was 100-percent correct during the Democrat debate when he accused Hillary Clinton of wanting to destroy the gun industry in the United States.

“If you go to a gun store and you legally purchase a gun and then three days later you go out and you start killing people, is the point of this lawsuit to hold the gun shop owner or the manufacturer of that gun liable?” Sanders asked. “If that is the point I have to tell you I have to disagree.”

“What you’re really talking about is ending gun manufacturing in America. I don’t agree with that,” he said.

While left-wing special interest groups like Politico and Salon have hammered Sanders for the NRA pointing out that Sanders is correct and have attempted to make his truth-telling a bad thing for the socialist candidate, he did in fact get this correct.

Hillary Clinton has attacked the Protection of Lawful Commerce In Arms Act (PLCAA), asserting time and again that it gives the firearms industry complete immunity from lawsuits.

Someone tell that to Remington, which is settling a class action lawsuit for the Walker trigger design.

Century Arms doesn’t believe Clinton, either. They were just sued for an allegedly defective safety.

Badger Guns was just hit for a $6 million judgement after selling a gun to a straw-purchaser who bought a gun used to shoot two police officers.

Here in reality, we know that the PLCAA was created for one reason, and one reason only; to protect the industry against frivolous lawsuits.

You wouldn’t hold Ford or Honda responsible if a man took a ten-year-old secondhand used car and used to mow down his ex-wife. You’d think that any attorney who said a car that drives faster than 55-miles and hour or which can carry more than four passengers is too dangerous for civilians to own, because the American people are “notoriously incompetent” with cars.

We’ll all find such a lawsuit to be ludicrous.

So someone please explain rationally why Mossberg or Glock or Smith & Wesson should be held responsible if a suspect takes a firearm purchased more than a decade ago (the national “time to crime” for a firearm is 11.08 years) and uses it for nefarious purposes?

Bernie Sanders was entirely correct.

Hillary Clinton wants to gut the PLCAA so that her friends in the Brady Campaign can once again file nuisance lawsuits in order to bankrupt the gun industry in wave after wave of lawsuits that should never see the light of day.

She wants the entire industry bankrupted as part of her psychotic hatred for the right to bear arms.

Michigan hunters, she’s coming after your guns as well.

You may want to consider that as you head to the polls today.
