AR-15 Sales Surge Over Distrust of Media, Democrat Party

Radical gun control supporters who are attacking firearms instead of Islamic terrorism as the cause of the Pulse night club shooting are driving a new wave of gun sales, including 30,000 AR-15s from just one retailer.

Hunter’s Warehouse Owner Tom Engle told the FOX Business Network’s Stuart Varney, his online operation consisting of 300,000 to 400,000 weapons has sold 30,000 AR-15’s since Sunday.

A Federal Firearms License (FFL) lets gun-store owners manufacture and import firearms and ammunition across the United States. Even though each state has its own set of gun laws, Engle explained how it would be possible to buy an AR-15 online.

“You would have the firearm shipped to an FFL [agency] in your home state because every state is different and then we would ship that FFL firearms agency in your home state and they would be responsible to do the paperwork for you in your home state,” he said.

Engle said the price for AR-15’s ranges between $350 to $8,000, and despite the recent outflow of AR-15’s, shootings have no impact on gun sales.

“Shootings don’t push up gun sales. It’s when the government starts talking about banning particular guns and up go gun sales. When people lose their right to buy a particular gun or a particular type of gun, they go after them and they want them then,” he said.

It may sound like there’s a huge new rush or perhaps even panic-buying taking place, but having been through the post-Sandy Hook run on firearms and ammunition and talking to numerous gun dealers, I can assure you that we’re looking at a different dynamic in play after Orlando.

Far from being panicked, the post-Orlando purchasers aren’t flooding gun stores and buying “whatever” at ridiculous prices just to have something in hand, fearing that government is going to swoop in and outlaw everything with rushed and hasty laws. People grasp that the panic-driven states (California, Connecticut, Maryland, New York) have already made their plays, and that radical state-level actions won’t come.

They also grasp that Barack Obama is toothless, and that his allies in the House and Senate don’t have the ability to push through any meaningful legislation, even as their political grandstanding reaches new levels of absurdity.

No, instead of panic buying, we’re seeing something else in play that should terrify anti-gun politicians and gun control activists even more: quiet determination. While they are amping up rhetoric and attempting to turn Americans against each other and the Constitution itself, Americans are responding to these zealots by calmly arming themselves with the kinds of arms and ammunition and training that should make any tin-pot despot take pause… if they were capable of self-reflection.

Gun store shelves are not emptying rapidly and ammunition shelves aren’t being depleted. Citizens are informing themselves, then buying arms suited for their needs and perceived threats.

That they’re buying so many AR-15s and similar rifles instead of handguns is what we call “a clue” as to what people perceive to be the real threats.

We buy handguns to carry with us as protection against the lesser threat of criminals and terrorists.

We buy long guns, multiple magazines, and ammunition by the case because we don’t trust the government and the media.
