Police Officer Shot In The Head, His Gun Missing In Detroit

I’ve got a really bad feeling about this.

A Wayne State University police officer has been shot Tuesday off campus, police confirmed.

The officer’s gun is missing, according to authorities.

A witness who lives near the scene said she heard three shots. She said the gunshots were very loud and she hid for at least five minutes until she heard police sirens arrive.

Michigan State Police, Detroit police and Wayne State University police are investigating at the scene.

Detroit Police say that the officer was shot in the head, after stopping someone riding a bike. Piecing it all together, it sounds like the officer made a stop and the suspect shot the officer down and took his gun before fleeing.

Update: A person if interest has been taken into custody.

A person of interest has been taken into custody in connection with the Tuesday shooting of a Wayne State University police officer, police said.

Officials were searching for Deangelo Davis as a person of interest in the case. He was taken into custody around 9:45 p.m. Tuesday.
