Man Shows Friend How His Gun Works By Blowing His Own Brains Out

I can’t even.

Man identified after reportedly shooting himself while showing safety on gun

A man who died after reportedly shooting himself while showing his friend how to use the safety on his gun has been identified as Goran Banjac, 37, of Fort Worth, according to the Tarrant County medical examiner’s website.

Officers arrived about 5 p.m. Monday at Banjac’s home in the 4800 block of Madyson Ridge Drive, according to a police report.

A 911 caller reported that his friend was holding the gun to his own head when he pulled the trigger and it discharged, said Officer Jimmy Pollozani, police spokesman.

I’m sure there are stupider ways to kill yourself than intentionally aiming a gun at your head and pulling the trigger when you could have made the same point (unsuccessfully) with an unloaded weapon pointed in a safe direction.

Authorities are refusing to disclose any other information at this time.

I’ll be very interested to see what model of pistol Banjac used in his accidental suicide, though we’re clearly not going to be able to ask him how he thought the safety was supposed to work.

Can anyone tell me how many rules of gun safety were violated here?
