The cable news media is doing a terrible job of talking about gun control and gun laws. Misinformation and outright falsehoods are in almost every segment involving a talking head, and if you’re like me, you’re frustrated by the superficial talking points instead of a real conversation.

We’re doing things differently here at Bearing Arms, and today Ryan Petty joins me for a wide-ranging discussion about what works (and what doesn’t) to stop killers before they start. Ryan’s daughter Alaina Petty was one of the victims of the attack on Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida last year, and ever since Ryan Petty has been on a mission to stop further attacks from stealing the lives of innocents.

Florida’s Guardian program that allows for armed school staff,  Beto O’Rourke’s push for a gun ban and “compensated confiscation”, and “red flag” laws that are being endorsed by more and more politicians  are just a few of the topics we cover in our conversation with Ryan, along with some real talk about how gun control bills become laws, and why it’s critically important for gun owners to have a seat at the table, no matter how much we might dislike what’s being served for dinner.

We also have the story of a wanted man from Pete Buttigieg’s home town who is on the loose when he should have been in prison, an armed citizen in upstate New York who’s now breathing easier after prosecutors decided not to prosecute him for using his father’s unregistered firearm to defend himself from intruders, and a Georgia police officer who’s on the mend and packing on the pounds thanks to the kindness of strangers from across the globe.

Thanks as always for watching and for sharing your daily dose of 2nd Amendment news and information!
