Virginia Psychiatrist Reveals Flaws In Red Flag Laws

The Virginia Crime Commission met in Richmond this week to discuss dozens of different proposals to fight violent crime and reduce suicide.

One of the measures drawing a lot of attention is a “red flag” proposal, which would take firearms from someone a court deems to be a danger to themselves or others. Dr. Dennis Petrocelli, a forensic and clinical psychiatrist, provided testimony to the Commission about some of the flaws with the laws and joins Cam to elaborate on his concerns.
