Gun control advocates want to disarm as many people as possible, and in order to do that, they have to figure out as many ways as possible to deny or prohibit individuals from owning firearms. The editorial board at Bloomberg.com recently weighed in with a plan to ban gun ownership for those prohibited of any alcohol-related misdemeanors. The editors claim that a study demonstrates those with minor convictions for alcohol-related crimes are a greater risk of committing violence in the future, but Dr. Dennis Petrocelli, a forensic and clinical psychiatrist and member of Doctors For Responsible Gun Ownership, joins me on today’s show to break down the flaws in that study, as well as the problem with trying to prevent crimes in the future by denying people their rights today.

Also on Bearing Arms’ Cam & Co. today we discuss the SCOTUS decision not to hear an appeal by Remington of a lawsuit filed by parents of some of those killed in the attack at Sandy Hook Elementary, an armed citizen in Memphis who protected herself after a stranger broke through her front door, a 20-year old Florida woman with more than a dozen felony arrests who was shot and killed after trying to run down two sheriffs deputies, and an officer in the Navy Reserves in the right place and at the right time to save a woman from drowning after her car ended up in a pond.
