On today’s Bearing Arms’ Cam & Co., I talk with David Harsanyi of The Federalist about the increasingly open desire on the part of the anti-gun movement to demand an end to the right to keep and bear arms, or at least a severe curtailment of the right.
From calls to ban and “buyback” the most commonly sold rifle in America today, to proposed insurance mandates for gun owners, anti-gun advocates are becoming increasingly open about the fact that their goal is to prevent as many Americans as possible from exercising their right to keep and bear arms. Almost every day you can find someone calling for a repeal of the 2nd Amendment or for the disarming of America. For decades now, we’ve heard politicians claim that they “support the 2nd Amendment, but…”, but how can you claim to support the 2nd Amendment when you want fewer Americans to exercise the rights it protects?
I also spend a little time talking about the new interactive map introduced by the Colorado Firearms Safety Coalition to help gun owners know where they can temporarily store their firearms if need be, the proposed San Antonio gun “buyback” and the opposition from the chief of police, and the Massachusetts legislative committee hearing dozens of gun control bills today.
As if that wasn’t enough, we’ve got an armed citizen story from Ohio, another story of light sentencing for a career criminal, and a life-saving police officer in Kentucky on today’s show as well. You can get the show in podcast form from Apple, Spotify, Stitcher, and Townhall.com podcasts. Thanks as always for tuning in and spreading the word!
