Parkland Father Addresses The Nation In Moving RNC Speech

Andrew Pollack doesn’t have to speak up. He could spend his days quietly going about his business, living his life to the fullest and staying out of politics, and nobody would think any less of him, except maybe himself. No, Andrew Pollack doesn’t have to speak up, but he believes its important to tell his story and the story of his daughter’s murder in the third floor hallway of Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida. Not because Andrew Pollack wants attention, but because he wants to save lives.

Pollack addressed the nation in an incredibly moving speech at the RNC on Monday evening, and I’m very touched and pleased that he found the time to sit down with me on today’s Bearing Arms’ Cam & Co. to discuss why he felt it was so important to speak bluntly with the American people about the attack in Parkland, the policies that enabled his daughter’s killer to avoid consequences and treatment for his many issues and red flags, and why he believes a Biden/Harris administration would be truly dangerous for the country.

In our conversation, Pollack pulled no punches in his criticism of Joe Biden and Barack Obama’s efforts to implement “restorative justice” policies in public schools; policies that Pollack believes led directly to the shootings at Marjory Stoneman Douglas by failing to treat the threat posed by the shooter seriously, even when the killer made an earlier threat to target students.

As Pollack tells me, Donald Trump has worked to undo those disastrous policies, but Joe Biden and Kamala Harris want to bring them back, as additionally want to end school choice programs that allow for parents in underperforming school districts to move their kids to better schools. Pollack argues that the combination of those two policy goals will force students to remain in failing schools that aren’t safe, but that’s not the only reason why he’s backing Trump’s re-election.

Pollack told me that he doesn’t blame the gun that was used to murder his daughter. He blames the man who pulled the trigger, and the school administrators and law enforcement officers who failed to take the threat seriously when they had a chance. Pollack’s been a longtime supporter of the Second Amendment, and declared that he never goes anywhere without his concealed firearm in order to protect himself and his family. The anti-gun agenda of the Biden/Harris campaign worries Pollack, who says that it’s become evident that Democrats would rather just take the easy road of blaming guns for crime, rather than deal with the individuals who are actually responsible for their own actions.
